1. Always wear your sunblock.

The number one rule for many reasons is to wear sunblock every day of the year. Yes, you heard me, 365 days of the year! Crazy right! The over cast rays are the worst…up to 80 percent of the sun's UV rays can pass through the clouds. Think dark spots, skin cancer, aging and pre-mature wrinkles. Avoid it by making it a morning ritual to apply an SPF over 30 and to reapply while outdoors. Our skin can be damaged via the sun while driving to work, poolside and even skiing (the snow can reflect 80% of the sun rays as well). If you want to age gracefully start out with that sun protection on a daily basis. It’s a simple rule to follow to prevent irreversible sun damage.

2. Do not sleep with your Makeup on, EVER!

Our number two rule is always Wash your face before bedtime and make up wipes don’t count. Washing daily and doing a double cleanse will remove the oil and dirt collected throughout the day and makeup as well. If you wear a lot of make-up that double cleanse is essential to remove all the make- up properly. If you have very problematic skin or acne, we recommend you wash after your workouts or practice if you are an athlete. Cleansing properly will make sure your skin care serums can do their job when they have a clean surface.

3. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate.

Daily exfoliation is key to smoother skin and softer texture. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and buildup revealing smoother skin. We recommend a chemical exfoliant verses a physical exfoliant. A chemical exfoliant from an Acid will accelerate the exfoliation of dead cells. Reduce the appearance of fine lines and diminish superficial sun damage with the proper use. We recommend our Acne- ER Exfoliating Mandelic Serum, it contains a unique blend of Mandelic acid, Lactic acid, and Niacinamide. The Physical exfoliants like harsh scrubs can create micro cuts in the skin and do more damage than good.

4. Oily Skin Needs Moisturizer too.

5. Hydrate your skin on the inside.

Drinking water can help the prevention of acne in by promoting proper skin hydration. Dry skin can trigger excess oil production, which could contribute to acne. Hydrated skin can leave you with a more radiant glow from within. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water will help rid the body of toxins. Our bodies hold on to all kind of toxins. The more water we drink the better we can flush everything out. By upping your intake of water, it may help keep your skin soft and smooth when used alongside a moisturizer and other skin care products.
